Crown Partnership was proud to host the inaugural ‘Dining With The Stars’ event at Gibson Hall in the city. As a show of thanks for the hard work that the venue had put in we were privileged to receive a letter from Stephanie Moore, Founder of the Bobby Moore Fund.
“Thank you so much for allowing the Bobby Moore Fund to use the beautiful Gibson Hall as a venue for our inaugural Dining with the Stars event on Thursday 24th January 2013. The food, wine and atmosphere were simply exquisite. I do hope that your guests enjoyed the evening as much as I did.
It was a huge success, raising £102,670. This is an incredible amount for our first year and will certainly make a fantastic contribution to bowel cancer research. To date we have raised over £19 million for vital research and I am indebted to you and all of our supporters for this incredible sum.
2013 is an incredibly important year for the Bobby Moore Fund as not only does it mark the 20th anniversary of Bobby’s untimely death, but it also marks the 20th anniversary of the Fund’s inception. When I set up the Fund in 1993 it was my hope that through using Bobby’s name and his World Cup legacy I could raise money to fund vital bowel cancer research and raise awareness of this terrible disease. Although we are making significant progress, there is still much to do as bowel cancer still remains the second biggest cancer killer in the UK.
This April, the Fund will be launching a new mass market campaign called ‘Make Bobby Proud’. Please do keep an eye out for some of the exciting activities which will be taking place throughout the year.
I do hope to be able to welcome you to other Bobby Moore Fund events throughout the year. Thank you once again for your support and I very much look forward to working with you in the near future.”
